Native Plant Garden Installation - Doyle Community Park

Overview:
Get in the swing of summer by joining the Trustees to install a native plant pollinator garden at Doyle Community Park! By using plants that have evolved in New England, this small patch of garden will provide valuable wildlife resources, require little maintenance, and be a pretty place to walk past.

Volunteer Tasks:
The specific tasks we will aim to accomplish are:

  • Removing the existing vegetation
  • Planting 50 native plant plugs
  • Spreading woodchips for weed suppression,
  • Installing a rabbit fence.
Please note: This activity will include a short walk along woodland trails to get to the site, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion.

Time Commitment:
Installation will occur on Saturday, June 27th from 10am-12:30pm.

We will meet in the Doyle Community Park parking lot at 464 Abbott Avenue in Leominster at 10am. Bring water, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, gloves if you have them, and a snack! We hope to see you there!
