Garlic Mustard Pull – World's End

Join us at World’s End to help remove invasive garlic mustard! By hand-pulling garlic mustard during its peak growing season, you will play a direct role in protecting the health and diversity of World’s End. 

Staff will provide a brief introduction to the plant and demonstrate how to identify and properly remove it. Volunteers will then work together to pull plants from priority areas across the property. 

This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors and making a difference for local ecosystems. No prior experience is needed! Come ready to get your hands a little dirty, learn about invasive species management, and help restore native plant communities at World’s End. 
 

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Remove invasive species, primarily by hand pulling (combined with use of a hand-pick or dandelion weeder)
  • Place these weeded plants in a garbage bag and leave them at the cone at the invasives site for pick up
  • Adhere to The Trustees safety protocols
Please note:
  • Please wear close toed shoes, long pants, and weather appropriate clothes (jacket, hats, bug spray, sunscreen etc.)
  • Volunteers must be able to walk to the site, and then to stand and bend for the duration of the volunteer shift. 
  • Age minimum: This role is open to ages 8+ but requires 1:1 supervision for children interested in participating. 
Time Commitment:
  • Wednesdays April 29, and May 13 and 20 from 9am-12pm
