Opportunity Details
Invasive plants are one of the major threats to Massachusetts' ecosystems, and they require a tremendous amount of effort to control and reduce. Invasive plants compete with and displace plants that are adapted to the local environment. Garlic mustard (Allaria petiolata) has become a common invader of New England forest understories and disturbed sites. It forms large patches by spreading tiny seeds that can remain viable for several years.
Join us at Fruitlands Museum this spring to remove Garlic Mustard on the following dates:
Removing invasive plants is a fantastic way to directly benefit local plants, animals, and humans. The more hands, the merrier!
