Garden Volunteers - Armstrong-Kelley Park
Opportunity Overview:
The Armstrong-Kelley Park -- both the oldest and largest private park on Cape Cod — is a beautiful eight and a half-acre site of specimen trees, walkways, trails, gardens, Liam’s train, and a Koi Pond. Gardeners of all levels of experience are welcome. We’ve got the tools and plants, what we need is more hands-on-help.
Gardeners will meet on Thursdays 10:00am-12:00pm during the growing season (Beginning of April - End of October).
Reports to: Horticulture Staff
Benefits:
April-October, Thursdays 10am-12pm. Three-month commitment preferred, but volunteers are welcome to sign-up for one session or as many as they like!

- Seasonal garden tasks such as raking and mulching
- Ability to work as part of a team while following directions
- Communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers
- Adherence to The Trustees safety protocols
- Sign-up for your availability
- A love of gardening and the outdoors
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and to kneel, lift up to 10 pounds, pull and dig
- Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces including grass, cobblestones, brick, and gravel
- Ability to follow instructions and work on a team
- Have reliable transportation to the Park
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Have appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor activity
- Please note: A background check may be required for this role
