Opportunity Overview:
Our community farm offers many opportunities for families to experience total sensory learning while also engaging with the working mechanics of locally grown food.
Chestnut Hill Farm is a leader in farm-based and environmental education with programs that engage and inspire the next generation to love nature and learn about local farms, animals, food and the environment. We are home to goats, fields of vegetables and many ecological wonders.
Reports to: Property Staff
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Communicate effectively with staff, visitors and volunteers
- Meet and greet visitors
- Answer questions about Chestnut Hill Farm and educate families about our animals
- Check guests in and provide general wayfinding information
- Assist with run of event [ie: assist with maintaining fire pit]
- Assist with set up and break down of event
- Adhere with The Trustees safety protocols
- Sign up for your availability
Qualifications:
- Interest in working in a farm environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces
- Outgoing, positive demeanor with a willingness to learn
- Ability to work some weekend days
- Ability to provide own transportation to the farm
- Please note: a background check is required for this role
