Fall Farm Festival - Weir River Farm

Opportunity Overview:
Join us for the Weir River Farm Fall Festival, scheduled for October 7, 2023! The Fall Festival is a joyous event, filled with activities including visits with our animals, live music, kids’ activities, food, and fun for adults and kids of all ages! Come celebrate harvest season at the farm, make some new friends and enjoy the day!
 
A number of different volunteer positions are available, with shifts either 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Volunteer positions include:
  • Greeters
  • Admission Assistants
  • Membership/Program/InfoTable
  • Sustainability Managers
  • Floaters
  • Kids Craft Table Assistants
  • Kids’ Game Assistants
  • Parking
Reports to: Property Staff and other volunteers

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Welcome visitors, checking in guests, and helping answer questions
  • Provide information about The Trustees, including benefits of membership
  • Manage some event tasks independently
  • Assist the Engagement Manager
  • Assist with set up and clean up, including the ability to lift tables and chairs
  • Communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers
  • Assist with parking and wayfinding
  • Observance of Trustees safety and COVID protocols
  • Sign up for your availability/shift
Qualifications:
  • Have reliable transportation to the Farm
  • Some experience working on events (with adults or children) desired, but not required
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Interest in community engagement
  • Some knowledge about the property and the Trustees desired, but not required
  • Able to handle basic physical tasks (lift small objects, walk short distances) during events
  • Good work ethic and reliable
  • Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces: grass, pavement, uneven surfaces
  • A willingness to be flexible regarding assigned roles
  • Minimum Age: 14 years old with adult supervision
  • Please note: A background check is required for this role
Time Commitment:
October 7, 2023. Shifts available from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and/or 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
