Hike Volunteer - Chestnut Hill Farm

Opportunity Overview:
Our community farm offers many opportunities for families to experience total sensory learning while also engaging with the working mechanics of locally grown food. Chestnut Hill Farm is a leader in farm-based and environmental education with programs that engage and inspire the next generation to love nature and learn about local farms, animals, food and the environment. We are home to goats, fields of vegetables and many ecological wonders.  
 
We are looking for volunteers to assist with our Wild Walks: guided evening hikes, a family friendly event where we guide visitors on a hike then enjoy a relaxing time around a campfire. This position will be working with youth of various ages, along with families and adults. 

Reports to: Property Staff

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):  
  • Meet and greet visitors 
  • Provide a fun and engaging experience for program participants
  • Answer questions about Chestnut Hill Farm  
  • Assist with set up and break down of program supplies  
  • Sign up for a shift
Qualifications:  
  • Able to lift 30 lbs or more  
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills  
  • Friendly and outgoing personality  
  • Desire to meet with the public, and share knowledge of The Trustees  
  • Dress in appropriate clothes and footwear for varying weather conditions and walking  
  • Please Note: a background check is required
