Events & Public Programs - Waterfront

Opportunity Overview:
The Boston Waterfront Initiative Team is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to work with visitors during public events. We plan to host a variety of seasonal festivals and public programs year-round including family festivals, salsa classes and various presentations and workshops.  Event Volunteers play a vital role in providing a quality visitor experience. This is an exciting new endeavor and we welcome all to join our team!

Our goal is to create and manage events that support diverse community needs and accessibility and bring attention to Boston’s climate resiliency goals.

Please Note: After signing up, volunteers will be sent a training video to familiarize themselves with the Boston Water Front and Piers Park III projects so they are ready to answer questions if needed at events.  

Events include the Sabores De Nuestra Cultura Family Festival, Harvest Celebration, and Luminaria on the Greenway.
 
Reports to: Engagement Manager and other property staff

Qualifications:
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Interest in family and adult programming
  • Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces: grass, pavement, uneven surfaces
  • Ability to pick up medium-weight objects from ground level
  • Friendly and outgoing
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged
  • Minimum age: 18
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Assist Engagement Manager and/or seasonal Event Assistants
  • Welcome and direct visitors, assist with the sale or dispersal of refreshments and act as a greeter
  • Participate in event setup and/or breakdown
  • Adhere to The Trustees safety and COVID-19 protocols
  • Sign-up for your available days and hours
  • Please note: A background check may be required for this role
Time Commitment Needed:
