Remote Volunteer Screening Team

Opportunity Overview:
Volunteers are at the heart of the Trustees – communities of individuals, organizations and companies committed to preserving and protecting the places we love for all to enjoy. Volunteerism has been a cornerstone of the Trustees’ since 1891 in conserving land for people and continues to play a role in shaping its future.

The Volunteer Services Team is currently recruiting individuals to assist with the screening and intake process for new volunteers. This is a statewide, remote opportunity reporting to the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, with the goal of building our overall volunteer base to support the mission of the Trustees. Interested volunteers will be provided training on our volunteer management system, HandsOnConnect. Volunteers will have access to a well-developed screening intake toolkit which includes appropriate scripts, contact process, and protocols. Consider bringing your skills to the Trustees to support the Volunteer Services Team goals, engaging with other volunteers and staff of all levels and learning the nuts and bolts of non-profit operations.

 

Note: this role may require a background check

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Schedule phone screens with potential volunteers
  • Maintain phone screen log
  • Provide overview of the Trustees properties and mission
  • Identify volunteer’s skills, interests, availability, goals and motivation
  • Communicate next steps for onboarding
  • Communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers
  • Log volunteer hours
Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel (required)
  • Experience with HandsOnConnect and/or Salesforce (desired, but not required)
  • Knowledge of resume evaluation, candidate assessment, and matching position to best candidate
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, presentation skill
  • Exceptional communication and people skills
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Have reliable access to internet, personal computer and phone

Time Commitment:
Ideal candidate will be available for one 4-hour shift either Friday mornings or Friday afternoons. Weekly Team meetings on Thursdays occur from 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
