Opportunity Details

Spring Workday- Peaked Mountain

Opportunity Overview:
The ascent from the main entrance to the summit of Peaked Mountain (pronounced “pea-kid”) is a workout, a climb along a trail that is strenuous in places and gains 467 feet in elevation. But once you reach the top, the 1,227-foot summit provides spectacular views of undisturbed rural and forested landscapes in every direction: a sweep of rolling New England countryside with valley farms and small villages, mountains, hills, and even the distant city of Springfield.   Come join our staff and other volunteers in a Spring Workday on Saturday, June 11th from 8:45 am – noon. Choose from a variety of projects, ranging from easy to strenuous: trail clearing of fallen branches, projects to enhance the entrance areas, and cleaning out drainage swales.  Meet at the Mountain Side Parking lot at 138 Butler Road.  Dress for the weather, wear work clothing (including closed toed shoes), bring water and snacks/lunch.

Reports to: Stewardship Team Leader
