Opportunity Overview:
Come join staff and other volunteers for our Annual Spring Clean-Up Day on Friday, April 22nd from 10:00 am – noon . . . this year in celebration of Earth Day! Help us pull winter’s blanket off and welcome spring! Volunteers should come dressed in layers for varying weather conditions, wear appropriate footwear, bring work gloves, hat, sunscreen, refillable water bottle and snacks. We will have tools to share, but
feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer.
Established in 1950,
deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum is the largest park of its kind in New England encompassing 30 acres, 20 miles west of Boston. Providing a constantly changing landscape of large-scale, outdoor, modern and contemporary sculpture and site-specific installations, the Sculpture Park hosts more than 60 works, the majority of which are on loan to the Museum. Inside, the Museum features a robust slate of rotating exhibitions and innovative interpretive programming.
Reports to: Stewardship Staff

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Work alongside staff and other volunteers
- Plant and/or transplant annuals and perennials as well as perform general garden clean-up such as raking, weeding, spreading mulch
- Maintain communication with staff
- Adhere to The Trustees safety and COVID-19 protocols
- Sign-up for this event
Qualifications:
- An eagerness to participate in maintaining deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work on a team
- Dress in appropriate clothes and footwear
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and ability to bend
- Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces including grass or uneven surfaces
- Minimum age: 18. Volunteers under 18 will require parent/guardian supervision
