Opportunity Details

Grassland Bird Monitor - NCM

Opportunity Overview:
The Trustees is seeking local birders and ecology lovers to help survey grassland habitat to assist us in evaluating the management of the grassland and agricultural resources on our properties.  The Trustees has long identified the management of suitable habitat for grassland birds as a key goal, but has also found it challenging to balance the needs of grassland birds with the production of viable agricultural products such as high quality hay.  The Trustees has taken measures, such as delayed mowing, to protect nesting grassland birds whenever possible.  However, the effectiveness of our management is not clear without the ability to properly monitor our grasslands.
