Customer Service Support Specialist - Naumkeag

Opportunity Overview:
With its views of Monument Mountain, its stunning collection of gardens created by Joseph Choates's daughter, Miss Mabel Choate, and Fletcher Steele over 30 years, its original artwork, and its shingle-style house, Naumkeag creates an unforgettable experience for visitors. Naumkeag hosts several highly engaging and amazing events and programs throughout the year, including the Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show in October and Winterlights in November and December.
 
To support these events, Naumkeag is looking for a talented customer service support volunteer, to assist remotely with daily incoming communications from visitors via phone and email. The Customer Service Support Specialist will monitor Naumkeag email and voicemail messages daily, responding to visitor inquiries when able, and referring messages to appropriate Naumkeag staff. This volunteer opportunity can be done remotely, from anywhere in the state. If you have a passion for special places like Naumkeag, a love of interacting with people, and excellent customer service and communication skills, this position is perfect for you!

Reports to: Amanda Duquette, Naumkeag Public Programs and Events Coordinator

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Monitor Naumkeag email inbox daily to triage incoming messages from visitors
  • Reply to email messages from visitors using provided templated materials
  • Flag important messages for Naumkeag staff to address
  • Monitor Naumkeag voicemail messages daily
  • Flag important voicemail messages for Naumkeag staff to address
  • Reply to voicemail messages using provided templated materials
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitor inquiries
  • Log volunteer hours
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in customer service sector
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Pleasant phone demeaner and temperament
  • Empathetic and compassionate
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Have access to reliable internet, computer and phone at home
  • Willingness to learn about The Trustees, Naumkeag and Naumkeag events and programs
  • Successful completion of CORI/SORI screening
  • Successful completion of Trustees Confidentiality Agreement
Time Commitment:
Flexible Schedule. Four-month commitment required. Approximately one-hour daily activity needed.
