Incredible Pumpkin Show - Naumkeag

Opportunity Overview:
Naumkeag’s Incredible Pumpkin Show returns this year and is bigger and better than ever! The exceptional gardens at Naumkeag in Stockbridge are filled with autumnal delights including uniquely carved pumpkins, stunning light displays and beautiful fall foliage. Come be a part of this family-friendly event, held Wednesday-Sunday in October. Volunteers will assist at the admission booth, snack shack and along the pumpkin trails. Volunteers may sign-up for as many shifts as they like, all in a COVID-19 safe environment.

Covid-19 Volunteer Safety:
The health and safety of Trustees volunteers and staff is our top priority
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home
  • If you have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 or someone displaying symptoms of Covid-19, please stay home
  • Volunteers will be required to wear masks while at Naumkeag
  • Volunteers will be required to maintain proper social distancing
  • Volunteers will be required to wash hands or use hand sanitizer upon arrival to the property
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
  • Reports to Naumkeag Public Programming and Events Coordinator
  • Meet and greet visitors
  • Assist with parking and wayfinding
  • Assist with refreshments
  • Monitor the lights and decorations, repairing or replacing as needed
  • Educate the public about the goals of the Trustees and the benefits of being a Trustees’ member
  • Assist with set up and clean up nightly
  • Communicate regularly with staff
  • Observance of Trustees safety and COVID protocols
  • Sign-up for your available days
Qualifications:
  • Have reliable transportation to the property
  • Desire to meet with the public, and share knowledge of The Trustees
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dress in appropriate clothes and footwear for varying weather conditions
  • Experience working with the public (desired, not required)
  • Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces: grass, pavement, uneven surfaces

Time Commitment Needed:
  • Wednesday-Sunday, October 1-October 31, 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Maximum of 2 volunteers per shift
