Garden Workdays-Boston Community Gardens

Overview

The Trustees are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to volunteer year round to help keep the gardens looking great.  Join the stewardship team  and other staff to learn as you go and get the work done at the same time. We first meet to talk about the day's tasks and then get to work. Rain or shine!

Responsibilities
·Listen to instruction to know how to care for the plants and use proper techniques
·Be able to use garden equipment, wheelbarrows and pruners safely

 
Qualifications
·Have reliable transportation to the property
·Knowledge of the ecology and geology of the area, not required
·Demonstrate good communication skills
·Friendly and polite demeanor
·Dress in appropriate clothes and footwear for varying weather conditions
· Familiarity with the property or area, not required
· Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces: grass, pavement, uneven surfaces
 
Time Commitment
Full or half days on scheduled workdays. If you are unable to commit to a full day please let us know when you "Express Interest" below.
