Overview

The Trustees is the steward of some of Massachusetts most popular destinations including the Castle Hill on the Crane Estate and Crane Beach, as well as over 116 reservations including working farms, urban gardens, campgrounds, inns and National Historic and Natural Landmarks from the Berkshires to Greater Boston to the Cape and Islands.

The Public Relations Intern will focus on supporting the fast-paced PR department at The Trustees, which will kick off a yearlong celebration of 125 years of conservation and preservation on May 21st. In addition to this year of special events, programs and promotions, The Trustees has many new initiatives as Massachusetts’s largest conservation and preservation nonprofit including its role as the programming partner at the new Boston Public Market and a public arts initiative.

The PR department at The Trustees employs a multi-faceted and multi-channel approach to media relations. This internship provides the opportunity to gain skills and experience in public relations and media development. We are seeking candidates who are eager to learn the nuances of communications in a deadline driven environment at a nonprofit organization. At the end of the internship, the intern will have learned how to handle database and media report management and targeted list development, as well as gained experience in pitch research and drafting and the management of media relations.
